Seventh Heaven

Here are some extracts from my soundtrack to the silent film Seventh Heaven from 1927.

It is a love story between Chico, a sewer worker, and Diane, a prostitute. They unexpectedly meet on the street, as she is fleeing her evil sister, Nana, who was exploiting her.

Nana denounces Diane and the police wants to arrest her for prostitution. Chico pretends to be Diane’s husband and vouches for her. The two have to maintain appearances and move in together. They start to fall in love.

War breaks out and Chico is called in to serve in the French army. He is wounded and presumed dead but Diane keeps believing he is alive.
